Kilts!

A gorgeous engagement session with beautiful Teri and her fiancé, Jim, a native Scotsman. We had no idea he was going to show up in his kilt! A stunning couple so very much in love.

Babies, Bellies, and Bloomers!

Meet the Eieslands: Ben, Ryan, Lorna, and Baby Girl on the way! We wanted to capture the sun and all of it's glory during this specific photo session. God definitely let his light shine through the clouds to display the essence and the beauty he has created amongst us. We were on location where Ben & Ryan's friends host a lot of church youth group events. We loved the outfits Lorna wore: bloomers, bows, and all!

Lil' Blue Eyes...

Let me introduce you to Winston. Isn't his eyes to die for? This charming little guy came out greeting us soon as we stepped out of the car! Many thanks go to Julee for riding out on her bike to save us from the depths of Cameron Park's backroads! This photo session was one to remember. The weather for the past few days has been super cloudy which is perfect for photos, however, the sun came shining out early that morning which caused a bit of a challenge! Although, we successfully defeated the blazing light from above and had a fun time doing it!

Sam I Am

This Sam. Isn't his hair amazing?! It's always funny to me what the end product DOESN'T show. The truth was that the photo session was the morning after he got shots AND he was starving. But Sam was a trooper and he smiled even though he was feel crummy. The camera caught his smiles and in the end product, you would never know he was feeling so bad. Way to go, Sammy! You can be my model any day!

Farmer Toddler Time... at Mama's and Papa's House!

So we meet some great new friends at Caffe' Santoro in Cameron Park and this little guy is one of my newest favorites! Isn't he gorgeous?! We went out to his 'Mama & 'Papa's house out on a farm and played in the dirt. My little Lauryn came to assist which was a special treat for me! Tyler, we cannot wait to come play again and next time we'll bring little Chase along, too.

Spring Engagement

Here are Alyce and Brad, one of my favorite sessions of the year. Alyce is adorable ~ no, beautiful! Beautiful on the inside and out. She an amazing actress and singer and she loves God above all else. And then there's Brad. No one really knows this guy except for all the hard work he does around the church campus. BUT... did you KNOW he has his Masters degree? Or that he played 4 years of college basketball? Or that he's on track to becoming a head coach?! Seriously, smart, good looking and seriously in love with Ms. Alyce. Congratulations on the big engagement my new friends!

Cooper @ 6

Here's Cooper. He's Mr. McChill and was completely ready for his close-up. I can't believe he's already trying to stand and walk at 6 months. He's growing up too fast for words!

Josiah & Co

Photographing little ones is often unpredicatable. Poor Josiah fell asleep in the car and woke up minutes before his photo session. He was then inundated with a barrage of tickling and me shouting "Hi Josiah!" over and over. He spent his time looking away and avoiding the crazy lady who's meowing, mooing and barking (no joke). After a little while, I was resigned to the fact that we would get nothing but "moody" pictures. You know, the kind in magazines where the kids are workin' the serious look. Then whaddaya know. He looked. He smiled. Yay! Way to prove me wrong, Josiah!

Friends and Lavender Fields

So you've met our intern, Jordan, but you haven't yet met one of her closest friends, Keri! These two were so funny out on location capturing Keri's senior pictures. I thought Jordan was a unique kind of silly and crazy... but seeing them together proved me wrong... she has a "comedy twin!" They were making each other laugh over the silliest things and it made me remember how much I love having girlfriends. Check out some of my favorites from our session!

How will I narrow these down?!

Ok, I haven't been out to Serrano in awhile and I've missed it! The flowers are all in bloom, the skies are beautifully blue and Lisa, today's senior spotlight, was amazing! It was fun watching her mom dote over her (I can't imagine what being a single child would be like! There are 6 of us in my family!) They were precious together and Lisa was so charming in front of the camera. How in the world will we be able to narrow down all the images?! (Note: Click on any image you want to see larger!)

Newborn Twin Boys

Blake & Brennon are here! What a beautiful pair of boys at one week old; it was such a joy to hold them and capture them as they slept and as they screamed in each other's ears! I am in love, for sure. You'll remember their big brother Trevor, from his annual birthday portraits. Gorgeous boys, all of them!

Cold? It's Not Cold!

Our buddy Jackson is 18 months old now. One late afternoon, we headed up to Roseville for a change in scenery. Jackson's mommy thought the fountains might be fun. So, Jackson dressed up in his best golf outfit (j/k, I love the sweater) and we shot a few "serious" shots. Then Jackson got suited up for the water and let the good times roll. I wasn't sure how this was going to go down since Jack (just minutes before) got completely freaked out by the geysers. As you'll see, Jackson is a water baby! I've never seen a child love being shot by cold water before. He kept going back for more.

Stella's Picks

So Stella asked me to post these images of Shelby since I somehow overlooked them. I love sharing this photography experience with Stella! We have such a great time working together, on location, at the computer, on the phone or just by email. What a joy it really is to have someone to bounce ideas, share experiences, learn from, and grow with. It is a bit like iron sharpening iron, where we can safely critique each other's work and happily pat the other on the back when we've nailed a shot or pushed the processing exactly the way we'd hoped. I'm blessed. I hope she's blessed but I like me so she has to feel the same way! Yah!

Senior Drive by Ballooning

So we were out on location yesterday having SUCH a great time with Shelby. Hair, makeup and clothes styling by our favorite, Cori Mensing of Studio Moxie. Intern Jordan came along to show off her new shootsac AND give her new equipment a drive for this pro shoot. I always love having Jordan with us because she's about as goofy as I am! We are like two kids goofing around out there... oh, wait, she IS a kid! I don't have any excuse.

Anyway, while we were getting some awesome "fierce face" shots ~ Shelby can look fierce AND beautiful at the same time (can someone please teach me how to do that without looking constipated! I am so envious.) ~ we got attacked. Actually, Shelby got attacked. Yes, in Placerville ~ Someone threw a water balloon at her. But did she lose her cool? Lose her pretty fierce face? No way, not a pro like her! It was such a great shoot in spite of it. Next time we shoot in Placerville, we'll be taking pictures of all the cars' license plates so beware, bad guys! No more drive by bombing to go unanswered.
